If I could follow Jenny around as a groupie, I would but I'll have to be content with stalking her online. :) On a serious note, I didn't know anything about the Spanish Civil War and it was great to learn about it in the midst of such a fine story. But the Moors were not finally driven out of Spain until the reign of Ferdinand and Isobella in the 15th century and even then some were retained to maintain the Moorish water systems. These were known as the Mudéjars or 'those who were left behind'. I live in Andalusia, the last stronghold of the Moors and we have a rich heritage of Moorish and Mudéjar architecture.<br />xxJenny Twisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15716569675973035423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132364668526714411.post-16198909910642764122012-05-02T16:33:22.243+00:002012-05-02T16:33:22.243+00:00What a fascinating post. I knew a little about this background, mainly because of the story of El Cid, who drove the Moors out of Spain in the 10th or 11th century, I think.
